Intergenerational Music Camp Provides Fantastic Finale for Music Festival
The last week of our annual Music Festival was special. Parc Provence welcomed Victoria Lininger to host a week long Intergenerational Music Camp. Children and residents enjoyed making music together.
Throughout the year, our Intergenerational Music Therapy Group benefits from socializing and playing music together. During the camp, even more residents and young people participated in and enjoyed this therapy that benefits all ages.
Intergenerational Programs Benefit Everyone
Programs connecting children and seniors are gaining popularity. Injecting youthful energy into senior living communities is a joyful experience. It stimulates a nurturing feeling in the residents, while allowing young participants a chance to be with older adults in a comfortable environment. Having positive experiences with senior adults at early ages creates a foundation for respect and understanding that lasts a lifetime.
Music Therapy Puts the Focus on Fun
The entire brain is stimulated by the techniques used in music therapy. It helps relieve stress and provides an opportunity for reminiscence while participants enjoy the experience. Whether singing, playing an instrument, tapping to the beat, participating in musical theater, or just listening, there are ways for people of every ability level to join in the fun.
Our residents enjoyed making new friends during camp. We are already looking forward to another great Intergenerational Music Camp next year!
